English Paper Piecing - The New Hexagon Millefiore Quilt

Char Sims and Andrea Shlasko, both members of the Guild, found that they share a passion – English Paper Piecing. They both love the handwork and enjoy having projects that can travel with them.

The project they selected for you, Rosette 5 of The New Hexagon – The Millefiori Quilt, will be a 23” round when complete. The Millefiori (a thousand flowers) Quilt is a fabulous design by Katja Marek, creator of The New Hexagon – this is definitely NOT your Grandmother’s Flower Garden! While Rosette 5 can happily stand on its own as a beautiful table-topper or a center medallion, you may find you want to continue on and make the whole Mille – which finishes at 78” square without borders.

Don’t expect to finish this in a day – but expect to learn all the skills you need to finish the project on your own – fussy-cutting, basting and piecing. Even if you already know how to do English Paper Piecing but just want support when starting a Mille, this class can still be for you. In addition, you will be welcome at Hex Along – a monthly get-together held at Deborah’s Quilt Basket run by Andrea and Char.
