Karen began her quilting journey in 1993 following many years of sewing and needlework. Her work encompasses all styles, and she has taught various classes and designed patterns for shops and magazines. Her quilts have won awards at local and national levels, including the AQS show in Paducah, KY and the NQA show in Columbus, OH.

After extensive self-study and judging experience, she became a National Quilting Association Certified Judge in 2007. She is qualified to judge Masterpiece Quilts.

After moving from Wisconsin to Florida in 2010, her quilting style continues to evolve, following the tropical trends. She resides in Florida and Colorado with her husband and dog, enjoying year-round beach walking, hiking, biking, kayaking, and making quilts inspired by the natural beauty surrounding her.
