Welcome to the Venice Area Quilters Guild

 

The Venice Area Quilters Guild is made up of nearly 300 quilters in Southwest Florida.  We have quilters of all skill levels from beginner to professional, with interests as varied as our experience levels.  We strive to promote the love of quilts, to encourage and preserve the art of quilts and quilting and to share friendship as well as knowledge with others.

Here are some of the Benefits you will enjoy as a member of this Guild:

  1. View the "Members Only" section of the website to access the Membership Directory.
  2. Attend Guild meetings and Stitch Connection without additional charge.
  3. Read the monthly Guild newsletter posted on the website, or mailed for a fee.
  4. Join or start a new circle.
  5. Register for classes, the Quilt Escape and other special events sponsored by the Guild at member rates.
  6. Participate in "Show and Tell" at monthly meetings and on Facebook.
  7. Enter your quilt or quilts in our biennial Guild Quilt Show.
  8. Vote on Guild issues.
  9. Borrow books from our lending library at the meetings.
  10. Drop-off and pick-up "goodies" at our free table at the meetings.
  11. Make friends and get creative ideas and support for your quilting.

As a Member of the VAQG, we ask you to do the following:

  1. Pay your annual dues by June 1st so we can maintain an accurate online directory, and to ensure you receive Guild email communications such as meeting reminders and newsletters.
  2. Support the Quilt Show (which subsidizes VAQG operations) by selling tickets for the raffle quilt, making items for the boutique, donating a small quilt for the mini-quilt auction, getting friends to attend, entering quilts in the show, AND helping during the show.
  3. Support our Community Service projects (such as making quilts for Children First, Hospice and Veterans, Holiday Teacup Auction and more).
  4. Befriend and mentor other quilters.
  5. Be willing to volunteer for committees and help with Guild events.
  6. HAVE FUN and ENJOY QUILTING!
